Christ is born! Glorify Him!
Welcome to all our parishioners and visitors this Theophany Day!
Children’s Nativity Pageant – Today, Theophany (Epiphany) Day, the parish children will present their version of the Nativity Story after Divine Liturgy. Thanks to Linda Rafeedie and the parents and children!
House Blessings – It is our Holy Orthodox tradition to have our homes blessed during the Epiphany Season, when we recall that all the waters of the earth were blessed by Christ’s Baptism in the Jordan. Hallow your home with this special yearly blessing. Please schedule a time with Father Peter who will come to bless your home. Email him at Rector@stmichael.org
Gratitude – Thank you all for your very generous gift to me at Christmas! Please know that we are in great need of several liturgical for the Temple. Your gift to me will be used to purchase these! Thank you!
Remembrance of the Reposed – Every 3rd Sunday of the month after Liturgy
Memorials – St. Michael’s is in the process of beautifying the church. We are in great need of a baptismal vessel for adults so they can be baptized according to the Orthodox Church(by immersion). We also need processional candlesticks and banners, as well as other sacred objects.
If you would like to purchase any of these, they can be in memory of your beloved deceased and memorialized in your church. Please see Father Peter if you are interested.
Parish Council Meeting – Next Sunday, January 13th after Liturgy, during the Agape meal.
Christ is born! Glorify Him! – For centuries, Christians have greeted each other at Christmas with this beautiful call and response. Use it this Christmas when you greet another Orthodox!
Weekly Services – Saturday Vespers at 5 p.m. + Sunday Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m.
Words of Holy Men and Women
‘And my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him’ [John 14.23]. My friends, consider the greatness of this solemn feast that commemorates God’s coming as a guest into our hearts! If some rich and influential friend were to come to your home, you would promptly put it all in order for fear something there might offend your friend’s eyes when he came in. Let all of us then who are preparing our inner homes for God cleanse them of anything our wrongdoing has brought into them.”
+ St. Gregory Dialogos, in Be Friends of God
Prayer of the Week
O Word of the Father from before the ages, Who, being in the form of God, broughtest creation into being out of nothing; Thou Who hast put the times and seasons in Thine own power: Bless the this Feast Day with Thy goodness; give peace unto Thy churches, victory unto Thy faithful hierarchs, fruitfulness unto the earth, and Great Mercy unto us.
